I’m running for Congress to bring a new sense of optimism and action where our incumbents are falling short.  Our democracy can only move forward if we all get involved, and participate. We need your help, energy, and best ideas. I hope you’ll join me in demanding change for the 15th District.

I’ve spent my whole life right here in the 15th District – in the Lehigh Valley. My story is the Pennsylvania story, one of hard work, dedication to community, and perseverance to keep up with constant change.

Like so many of you, my life has taken many turns. I followed my father’s footsteps into Bethlehem Steel. When the mills moved, I went back to night school and became a nurse. My wise mother taught me that change was inevitable – I never stopped learning and building new skills so that my children could live the American dream.

I am running for Congress because we need a fresh approach to address our concerns, for the middle class, college students, seniors, and the poor. My perspectives are yours – father, grandfather, husband, steelworker, union leader, nurse leader, local mayor, and county commissioner.

You can count on me to know what it takes to fight for our community. And I would be honored to have your support.

See you on the trail.

Quick Facts About Bill

• His father is a Pearl Harbor survivor, part of America’s Greatest Generation who answered the call to defend a nation.

• Bill is a civic leader knowledgeable on local issues. He has served as a Lehigh County Commissioner At-Large, Mayor and Council Member of Coplay Borough, and as a Whitehall-Coplay School Board Director.

• Bill was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley – someone who has benefited from the generous spirit and support of our proud community.

• His perspectives are local – having worked closely with police on neighborhood safety, school funding, establishing scholarships, and community health care.

• Bill followed his father’s footsteps into Bethlehem Steel, and was moved by his mother’s wise counsel to go back to night school and learn new skills so that he could continue to provide for his growing family in an ever-changing world.

• Bill is a trusted local leader who knows that leadership is not about arguments, but achieving actual, everyday results – something seriously lacking in Washington today.

• As the steel mills declined, Bill saw the need for radical change. He entered nursing school to fulfill his desire to serve people, grow and change. His mother, a former light-industrial worker who always wanted to be a nurse encouraged him.

• He will bring to Washington the political sensibilities of a successful manager, steelworker, union leader, healthcare leader, community organizer – and a tested problem-solver.

• Bill’s experience showed him that the changing economy and increased global competition would not always be kind to our local community. He was an active union leader – motivated by his passion as a steadfast defender of worker rights and to serve people.

• Finally, and most important, is Bill’s family. Bill is a husband, a father of six children, a new grandfather, and will bring the compassion of a parent to this role, as he has in his previous endeavors.
